Natural stone has been a part of human existance for millions of years. Stone age man used stone tools to survive. As time went on, men learned how to shape stone as a functional building material and later to carve stone for decoration.
This long long association that man has had with natural stone may explain why people today still take pleasure from real stone artifacts. We still, in our heart of hearts, instinctively recognise the difference between natural stone and artificial.
Sometimes for financial reasons we fool ourselves into believing that a cheaper artificial stone is almost as good, but who are we kidding? While artificial stone simply gets old and gungy, the natural stones, yorkstone or sandstone or welsh slate are ageing serenely, gracefully weathering all that history can throw at them.
They may get old, but they are always beautiful!
